Scheduling Assistant for On-Call Scheduling:

The Scheduling Assistant feature of Call Scheduler was created to help schedulers in several areas:

  1. To alleviate the tedium of trying out various schedule “scenarios” by hand,
  2. To produce and track a fair call schedule, that considers days off, vacations, and pre-scheduled jobs,
  3. To produce a schedule that spaces assignments as far apart as possible, and
  4. To standardize the process of generating a “preliminary” call schedule.

The Scheduling Assistant is meant to be used in “stages”, the way a human scheduler works. After scheduling the most difficult days first, you review the resulting schedule, then run the next most sensitive days, and review the schedule. Call Scheduler makes it easy to compare the resulting “preliminary” schedule with the tally sheet as you go, so you can manually tweak the schedule at any stage.

Directions!

Follow the step-by-step directions in the "Before using Scheduling Assistant" instructions, and the "Scheduling Assistant Rules" instructions prior to using the Scheduling Assistant feature. Also, be sure to follow the Scheduling Process provided to you during training when running Scheduling Assistant so you use settings appropriate for your particular Group.
