Get Your Call-Schedule on Your Palm PDA! [Instructions] [FAQ about this feature] [Troubleshooting]
Providers can download their personal work and call schedule to their Palms. Simply dock the Palm to your computer and down load your schedule from Call Scheduler. You will need Winzip to unzip the download.
| Important! |
- We support Palm OS version 3.0 or above. The Call-Scheduler Palm application takes 2k of space and runs on Windows 98, ME, 2000 professional, NT, and Windows XP. We do NOT support Vista.
- We do NOT support Microsoft Pocket PC, or Apple MacIntosh, or Treo 700w with this feature. We have an iCal feature that may meet your needs.
- We have a feature that creates PDFs of the calender for HandHelds. This useful for many people, including those unable to use the Palm sync feature.
- We require the Palm Desktop software be installed on your computer before you install the Call-Scheduler software. This is very important because our software will not work properly without the Palm Desktop software's help. You need to be familiar with how to sync your Palm. If you need assistance with these activities, please contact the company from whom you purchased your Palm device.
- One Provider's calendar can be sent to a single Palm PDA.

You are now ready to HotSync your Palm: [top]
You will be HotSyncing twice before the conduit will run.
The first time downloads to the palm. The second time is the actual Sync function. |
- Cradle your Palm and backup your data prior to your first Call-Scheduler HotSync.
- Click HotSync on your Palm. This installs the Call-Schedule application onto your Palm PDA device.
- To verify that it installed correctly, look for Call Scheduler in the Palm PDA applications list.
- Click HotSync on your Palm again. On this HotSync and all future Call-Scheduler HotSync you will be retrieving current Call-Scheduler information from the server.
- In the Settings Window, you will be asked your Call-Scheduler username and password prior to the calendar update.
- User: Your Call-Scheduler login name.
- Password: Your Call-Scheduler password.
- In the HotSync Window, use the drop down menus to select the Dates to load into your Palm. You can decide how far into the past, and future you would like to sync your Palm to Call-Scheduler. For example, we recommend you Hot Sync from 1 week in the past to 2 months in the future. This means your Palm would sync with the calendar server so you would be able to see all scheduling information that occured/ will occur in the time period from 1 week ago to 2 months from now.
- Press Sync in the application window, or let the timer run out and it will sync on it's own. The Call-Scheduler application window will close right away, but the Palm will continue to runs it's internal routine, which may take a minute or two.
From now on, when you HotSync your Palm PDA, if an internet connection is available, the HotSync Manager will automatically check to see if the Call-Schedule has been updated and will download the most current information!

- Find the Palm-Desktop Program. Look under the start menu for something like Palm-Desktop, Handspring, or Palm, or the name of your PDA. You must have this application, and you must start it up. If you do not have it, you must install it. It is the software that came with your PDA.
- Click the install button from within the Palm-Desktop Program. Then, in the navigation window, go to a file called callscheduler.prc located in the Palm directory on your computer. That marks the file to HotSync to the Palm. (The path would be something like: C:\Program Files\Palm. This is different than the callscheduler.CAB located on your computer desktop. The incorrect path would be something like C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop)
- Now click HotSync on the Palm and the application will download to the Palm.
- Check the Palm to see if it's there by clicking Applications on the Palm and look for Call-Scheduler.
- Click HotSync on your Palm again. On this HotSync and all future Call-Scheduler HotSync, you will be retrieving current Call-Scheduler information form the server.
