A Sample of Common Rules

  • If "any provider" is scheduled to work "Night Call" on "Friday" then that same provider is also scheduled to work "First call" for the next "2" days.

  • If provider without the "Cardiovascular" skill is scheduled for "Mercy Call" then another provider must be scheduled for "Backup One"-both cardio and non-cardio for that day.

  • If provider without the "tee reader" skill is scheduled for "Primary Call" then another provider must be scheduled for "TEE Call" for that same day.

  • If John Doe does not have the Interventional skill set when scheduled for on-call, then set a flag for the back-up job on that same day.

  • If John Doe is scheduled for on-call on “any day” then he/she is also scheduled for rounding on that same day.

  • If John Doe is assigned to work Interventional Call on Saturday, then he/she is also scheduled for Interventional Call for the next 2 days.

  • If Any Provider is scheduled for “west clinic am” on Wednesday, then he/she is also scheduled for “admin” on the following Thursday.

  • If Any Provider is scheduled for Interventional on “any day” then do not schedule him/her for on-call for the previous 1 day.

  • If John Doe is scheduled for Back-Up Mercy on Friday, then do not schedule him/her for On-Call Hillside, Back-up Hillside on the previous Friday or following Friday.

  • If John Doe is scheduled for Interventional Call on Friday, then do not schedule John Doe for Interventional Call for the next 3 Fridays.

  • If John Doe is assigned to work Interventional Call on Friday, then also do schedule Sally Jones for Interventional Nurse on the same day.  If Sally Jones is unavailable, then choose Nicole Leaders.

  • If any provider is scheduled for ED Consult on any day, then he/she remains available for Fast Clinic, Tele-med and Admin on that same day.

  • If any provider is scheduled for Weekend Call on Friday then he/she is scheduled for day-off the following Monday.

  • Schedule John Doe for Westside Clinic every Wednesday between January 1 and December 31.
